The Fiery Furnaces
Ive said it before, but I think the fiery furnaces had one of the best albums this year- Blueberry Boat.
Some songs of theirs to check out if you havent heard of them are: Straight Street Mason City Bow Wow Up in the North

I actually saw this band live this year ('round Februarish or so) because my crazy Meg White-loving friend wanted me to go. I have to admit, I still don't get the music, but to tell the truth, it was an incredible performance.
I think it's more experimental than anything.

Bitter Tea is one of my favorite albums, and I just get this awesome nostalgic feeling from listening to these guys. So much better than any other token "cute indie pop band with simplistic lyrics", at least from what I've heard.
