Rural Alberta Advantage
Indie Rock band now based out of Toronto recently signed to a major label which will be re-releasing their second EP "Hometowns" next month.
This is probably more a "hipster band" but I find their music to have an instantly pleasant quality that transcends genre of musical identity. Check them out for yourselves "Don't Haunt This Place" "In the Summertime" |
Is Alabama a typo or am I just not getting your keen sense of humor? Either way I love this band. I've been listening to Hometowns a lot lately.

I'm not sure I'd get that sense of humor either. I love the album quite a bit too. Looking for to it's re-release. |
Title fixed.

Well this thread is a fiery ball of success. I just finished listening to Hometowns again tonight and finally gave the Rural Alberta Advantage Ep a listen. I think my favorite songs are still The Dethbridge in Lethbridge and The Deadroads.

It's too bad because they're probably going to end up being a pretty big indie success before much longer and all these people here who will become fans of them will have missed their chance to jump on board early.
Deadroads is great; I love Hometowns, The first six tracks are all very very good. |
Awe. They make me happy inside.
I'd love to hear a well recorded version of their stuff. It would be good get up in the morning music. |
i think their songs could be improved but overall very good

Year 2011 and I just found this band.
Have to say I'm really enjoying them. Also want to add that I really like the song Frank,AB, the beginning reminds me of Wintersleep and the chorus doesn't remind me of anything I've ever heard I don't think... |
good band, found em on emusic.good new album too.
