I'll second all of those, especially Juno. They don't get enough credit.
Closer to Jawbox, however, would be J. Robbins' bands since the break-up of Jawbox...Burning Airlines (two albums) and Channels (one album and one EP). I recommend everything by both. Additionally, I would point you in the direction of The Casket Lottery, The Dismemberment Plan, Faraquet, Fireside, Fugazi, Seven Storey Mountain, mewithoutYou (not their latest, though), and 31Knots.
