Karate
An Indie Rock band from Boston that sometimes used Jazz lines in their music. The lyrics were usually more spoken but this adds a simple but effective dimension. Capable of melodies of simple elegance this could appeal to many fans and it should do. They sadly split in 2005. PM's available. |
Sounds interesting, judging by the video there. If it's no bother I wouldn't exactly mind a PM :) I've got an album you might like as well, so I'll up it for my side of the bargain.

I enjoyed that song quite a bit, it's right up my alley. I'd be interested in hearing the album you consider the best or best starting point.
|
Funnyily enough I was going to bump this thread as I think they should be heard more! I have sent you two- both superb.
|
I said thanks in PM already but just so others don't think we're unappreciative a-holes...thanks again.

I've just got to the end of their Unsolved album and I've gotta say, it's absolutely immense. Can't quite pick out favourites yet as this is my first listen, but more members definitely need to hear this. |
Glad your liking it even if it's just the two of us! For a three piece they certainly fill the soundscape well.
|
I just love how they manage to keep that laid back kind of vibe without the music getting boring, which happens all too easily if you're gunning for that in a rock band format. The album's a real success as a genre hybrid. I'll be sure to give the other one a spin soonish.

Loving this. Had it on this afternoon with friends over, bf said it reminded him of Pink Floyd, and someone else thought it was Audioslave. The jazz undertones really make it stand out though. It's wonderful stuff.
Thank you so very much! |
Audioslave and Pink Floyd are the last bands that I would compare it to personally but glad you enjoyed it.

I love these guys. Have you heard their In The Fishtank contribution? Excellent musicians.
