I bet I get called 'opinionated' or something for this because I usually am but I can`t help think that the reason people are gushing over Smile is over what it represents rather than what it actually is.

On your comment about Smile, I'm not so sure... I can't speak for anyone else but it doesn't represent anything to me other than happiness, and thats merely because of the music. I'm not a massive beach boys fan other than a few, including Good Vibrations, which is on Smile therefore helping to make it my faveourite album this year. |

As for Smile , I was talking generally rather than just your opinion. I just don`t see how an album thats had 35 odd years of mythology around it can be looked at in an unbiased way whether that be good or bad. |

[QUOTE=Sweet Jane]You get called various things because you reply to threads and yet rarely answer any topics, i.e, im interested to know what your faveourite albums of 2004 are?[QUOTE]
I don't want to come off as an advocate for Urban Hatemonger here but he did list his top 100 songs in the rock forum. So while you may not know his top X albums for 2004, but you have an idea of what he's about. |

One persons opinion is valid when commenting on general opinion. The general public is made up with people just like me. What makes you so sure the reviews on smile are biased? I know a lot of heavily awaited albums failed miserably, no matter how much people anticipated and wanted them to be the best albums ever made.
