Go with what you like, I always say...For me, i feel like they definitely picked up where their predecessors left off--however, they've failed to carry the sound into new, exciting territory. That's my gripe with 'em, I think, is that we've heard exactly what they're capable of...

the best stuff he did was his early stuff, king of the beach sounds like fun at first listen but doesn't do it for me.( look for **** like ''friends were gone'', thats wavves like it should be)
i much prefer Times New Viking, they blow away wavves, or new stuff like The Moonhearts (formerly known as charlie & the Moonhearts), No age, and so on...... |

Im into the whole 'chillwave' movement, but i think Wavves' music can get really messy and inconsistent sometimes... i understand using analog recording equipment if one wants to achieve that sound, but he really overuses it and it gets super muddy. I think Washed Out executes what Wavves is trying to do in a much more concise way.
