i can definitely understand where you're coming from. I just dont really think its that trashy or raw, i think its just really ****ty recording with really ****ty musicianship and really ****ty song structure lol. I love trashy raw music like durga, or jihad. But this doesn't give me any enjoyment. 99% of me wonders if the only reason people like this band is because pitchfork is all over their nuts while .5% of me wonders if I'm missing something while the other .5% of me accepts that I can't get into them purely because im just not a hipster.

This may sound odd, but i love the ****ty musicianship and ****ty production, as i said, its so trashy and i find it refreshing. Theres so much energy in this approach i think. Its something you can just listen to and completely shut off. And i do think the songs are well structured. At the end of the day its different strokes for different folks, bands like Wavves, Eat Skull, Times New Viking and Railcars just do it for me when im in a certain mood.

calling wavves' albums "epic works of art" is insulting to the things that people have genuinely put effort into creating. Last edited by CAPTAIN CAVEMAN; 10-24-2009 at 03:49 PM. |

If you look really carefully, you'll notice that no one actually called wavves' albums epic works of art...

really digging the new album.
i hope people who didn't like wavvves or didn't like nathan being a lil' pussy at his live show don't just ignore this album. it's extremely different and extremely varied. it's like this weird mix of blink 182, no age, and hell..animal collective. potential to be the album of the summer for me. |
