Default Anyone for indie folk or bluegrass?

I didn't want to post this in the country music forum because it's too mainstream for me.

So is anyone here into indie folk or bluegrass?

Here's what I listen to:

The Wailin' Jenny's
The Be Good Tanyas
Nanci Griffin
Kate Rusby

There's more, but I'll leave it at that for now.

So is there anyone else here who likes this type of music?

I love Kate Rusby but I cannot see any 'Indie' connatations in her music personally. The soundtrack she done with John McCusker for the film 'Heartlands' is fantastic.

I'm not always aware of which bands are signed to indie labels or have the traits of an alternative artist. I guess I just figure if it's different and not many people know about it, it may qualify.

Here's two names for bluegrass, I hope you look them up cause they're amazing.

Luther Wright & the Wrongs- Rebuild the Wall (A country retelling of Pink Floyd's "The Wall")

.357 String Band- Ghosttown

I looked them up. You're right, they're amazing! Just enough weirdness to be right up my alley.

Hayseed Dixie are great fun. 'Let There Be Rockgrass' is such a great album!

Have you heard of:

Iron and Wine
Okervill River?

I think you may like them both

I love Iron and Wine. Boy with a Coin is my favorite, oh and I love Naked as We Came. I'll check out Okervill River. I'm always looking for something new.
