Stricken City
Anybody else came across this band before? I'm really digging them. They popped up when I was youtubing for some videos for some other band, they were in a playlist with said band on there. Definitely enjoying their floaty guitar pop feel. {Stricken City} on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads Stricken City - The Official Site As far as I can tell they don't have an actual album out. They're playing a gig near me in late May, but it's £16.50 and it looks like they're only supporting (so that's a pretty steep price for an impoverished student) for Maximo Park and Noisettes (who I don't listen too - I'll check them out and if I like probably go for it). Do you dig it? Also ITT: I'm making a post about music! Me! I know! Don't worry, the sky isn't falling.

Shameless bump? Perish the thought!
Stricken City are releasing a special edition EP that you can grab off Puregroove if you're UK or ... somewhere else if you're US. They also have 2! new songs on their myspace {Stricken City} on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads which will be on said plush EP. Suffice to say, I consider them sooooooo goooood. I'm assuming that seeing as last time there were no replies about the band people aren't checking them out, which is a mistake and I may kill you for. Click the link, listen to the first song on their myspace. It'll, at most, waste 3 minutes and 9 seconds of your life. I'm fairly certain, however, that you won't consider it wasted.

Check out their myspace. Their songs are effjeffin awesome. Kind of a synth-pop-rock sound, very easy going. They've got upbeat and downbeat songs but whatever they seem to want to do they definitely do it well.
