For me it won't count until I see MyCity, USA listed as an official tour stop. I'm excited for people who can get to London and Barcelona though.

I'm already tied up for the summer, so London, Barcelona and whatever festivals and gigs they play during the summer are unfortunately out of the question for me. I'm hoping they come over here at the end of August/start of September.

Really hoping they do Scotland at some point, a friend and I have been talking about going to a shoegaze gig for ages and Slowdive are probably my favourite so it'd be fantastic. Kind of just wish I was going to Primavera now because I could have went but chose another festival instead.

I've only got round to listening to Souvlaki, but since I was recommended to listen to them (on here, a year and a bit ago I think) it has been in constant rotation. One of the few albums that I am happy to listen to in its entirety.

Slowdive were indeed a special band and definitely deserved more recognition. The backlash they experienced along side their contemporaries such as Ride and Lush was largely driven by the weekly press namely the NME and Melody Maker. While the criticism was harsh at times the bands weathered the slings and arrows and continued to create amazing albums.
