Souvlaki Space Station is just...wow.
I've always wondered how this kind of songs would sound with 2010's recording tecnology, and If the result is the amazing Black Metallic cover by Hammock well...go and remaster the albums, shoegaze bands! |

Slowdive's Souvlaki An Underrated Masterpiece?
Even though it's considered one of the 3 key shoegaze albums, I feel that it's underrated. Every review I read compared it with Loveless by MBV, even though they are different in many ways. Souvlaki is more dream-pop influenced, with Eno-tinged background sounds. I'm the minority as I consider Souvlaki as good as Loveless (don't kill me!) with awesome songs like Alison, When The Sun Hits, Souvlaki Space Station and so on.
It's true that the last part of the album isn't as good as the beginning and some songs aren't that good but the entire album itself leaves an impression on me, and that's why I consider it one of my favourite albums of all time. |

I can't say I ever expected to be able to see Slowdive live...this is making me very happy.
I got My Bloody Valentine checked off the list, and hopefully now I can check Slowdive off. My two favorite shoegaze bands, done.
