White Music and Go 2 are much odder and post-punkish than the rest. D/W and Black Sea are still hard-edged but much more new wave. Beyond that I'm not even sure what to call it.

I'm listening to Mummer now. I've got spotify preimum so I've got all those D/W onwards to listen to...It''s gonna be a while, if ever before I get around to the first 2 albums.

Mummer is an airy, low key, albeit very good album. Personal favorites are Great Fire and In Loving Memory of A Name.
XTC is one of the most underapprecited bands of all time. Their songcraft was superb, and I'm hoping for another album one of these days (years). |

White Music isn't bad. It's a little inconsistent and all over the place, but that's to be expected in a debut. It's the fun poppy tracks like Science Friction that remind me of Elvis Costello.
