Mine are:

Disintergration(My favorite of all)- When I was in HS, this came out, and all I did for the entire summer, was compare EVERY SINGLE RECORD to it. It's definitely top 6 on my all time greatest albums list.

Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me
Boys Dont Cry
Japanese Whispers
Three Imaginary Boys

Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me (mania)
Three Imaginary Boys (attitude)
Wish (addiction)
Faith (bass lines)

Setlist is out for the Cure's Shows Of A Lost World tour opener in New Orleans. They played " thousand hours" and "six different ways" for the first time in 36 years. Man, I wish I was there.

I recently passed my driving test and have been scouring through charity shops to find decent CDs. I found Boys Don't Cry for about 2 quid and listened to it fully on my way home from college this afternoon, and I absolutely loved it. It's the only Cure album I've listened to in full so far so would appreciate more recommendations !!

You really can't go wrong with any of the first four Cure albums. I know the first Cure album, as initally released in the UK, was titled Three Imaginary Boys. The US release was titled Boys Don't Cry and subsituted some tracks from singles in place of some of the tracks on the UK release.

In any event, you can't go wrong IMO with any of the three albums that followed: Seventeen Seconds, Faith, and Pornography. After that, the quality was spotty and I didn't follow them as closely. I'm sure other board members can give recommendations on their later stuff.

Yeah, Disintegration is their best and one of the best albums of all time. Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me is closer than some people might think. Pornography and Bloodflowers are pretty solid too.

For songs agree that their big hits are the best unlike a lot of bands. Lovesong is probably my favorite and then things like Just Like Heaven (love the Dino Jr. cover too), Pictures of You, Lullaby, and Friday I'm in Love. HM to The Caterpillar from The Top for a deeper cut.

Love Smith's voice in general and they have a lot of longevity, good songs over a long period.

I think Pornography is my favorite. I also like that Cure album too.

Lucem, you're right, it's silly to talk about what I would or wouldn't do IRL. Glad you brought it up. Maybe you should write an instrumental about it. I recommend a piano paired with a clarinet. With ambient sounds of you hanging from your shower curtain you ****ing failure.

Art Is Dead. Buy My ****.
