Happy little band I just came across

Their new album is "In Case We Die"- just came out this past April.

I got the list of instruments they use from the same site I got the pic. It goes like {{glockenspiel, trombone, trumpet, tuba, recorder, clarinet & finger clicks}}.

I'd start out by listening to Imaginary Ordinary, Scissor Paper Rock, In Case We Die (part 1-4), One Heavy February, and Do the Whirlwind.

Nice variety of instruments to create such an uplifting sound. Reminds me of the happiness of Polyphonic Spree speeded up and without sounding like a choir. I like it, very much. :)

Fully this band is like an alt. bomb. i absolutely love them hav seen them live, their music is soo great its like sooo energetic u cant help but want to jump around, i also love their vocal range hw they can go from a singing whisper to a right out there loud as chorus. their live show was excellent they were on this smallish stage but still managed to move around n create a rweally vibrant atmosphere, listen to its 5 if u want a pick up, to get u in a better mood, yes i am in love with them lol

What a fun band. I prefer Fingers Crossed to the album they released last year, though.

Don't have fingers crossed yet, but on list to get. VERY good album and I have 3 songs on rotation I like them so much...

This thread has reminded me I was going to get their album months ago but totally forgot

I love them, theyre my favorite indie band. Theyre really talented musicians, I hear they all play more than one instrument. In Case We Die was good but I definitely like Fingers Crossed better =).

All I've heard from them is In Case We Die and I loved it. It was new and refreshing to say the least.

really interesting and different band. the range of different insturments makes their songs interesting and you find as you listen back through you can pick up little bits you didn't hear before. It's 5 did kinda get on my nerves though

^ lol I agree, at first I used to really like that song but it gets annoying after a bit haha.

mostly agree too - but am more a fan than not... but after 5 listens i'm done...

Does anyone have something by them instead of In Case We Die?

I have fingers crossed, Ill up tommorow, Im procrastinating on studying for an exam right now and dont feel like being more distracted lol

I try about every two months or so to get in to them because one of my good friends (with a decent musical taste) worships the ground they walk on, but they always fall a little flat for me.

I thought their first two albums were decent. "Do the Whirlwind" and their latest single are a lot of fun.

they are. I cant get Do the Whirlwind out of my head

They're great. I have both Fingers Crossed and In Case We Die, but I haven't really had opportunity to listen to the latter yet. I like 'Souvenirs' and 'Like A Call'.

there good and fun music, not boring! ITS FIVE!!!!!

saw them last night in austin. had a blast. most all of them play 2 instruments they would go back and forth between. at first listen i didnt like their most recent album but it played really well live. i really enjoy their first 2 albums.

I thought you'd like them.

wow, AIH are in no way typical. eclectic, quirky, exotic, yes, but typical, no.

Has anyone started a thread on this band, yet? Just heard it last weekend, and it blew me away.

Hate to revive an old thread, but I'm completely addicted to this band right now.

I had heard "The Owls Go" somewhere and, after searching, found the band.

They're outstanding, and probably one of the quirkiest bands I've come across.



Anyone else into them?

^ I saw them live a while ago and though they aren't really the style of music I'm usually into I had so much fun and it was just a really, really, really fun gig. For me they're just one of those groups who are really fun to dance to, to sing to, and to be silly to. Definitely very quirky, which is what I really like about them.

Yeah they're definitely a fun band, I only have Places Like This but I dig it.. my only complaint is by the second half of the album it sort of lags on and I find myself wishing it would just be over. This is a band I like in small doses.

Fingers Crossed is terrific; In Case We Die very good as well.

I have to admit, Fumble is probably my favorite song by them.

Architecture in Helsinki are a band from Australia they are a bit like Bjork in a way except they're not from iceland.

This made me lol.

If you do like, look up: Los Campesinos!, Of montreal, Elf Power, Apples In Stereo, Vapnet, and maybe The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart and Camera Obscura.

Yeah I've heard of Apples in stereo and Of montreal I like them but I haven't heard of the others I'll give them a listen.

They're GREAT- I watched it on Sound Relief! Love them

They are pretty good. I like Fingers Crossed and In Case We Die.

I'm presuming everyone who likes these guys knows Los campesinos!, if not, look em up.

I ordered a McClusky album on Amazon and got one of their albums by mistake. Needless to say I was a little surprised... :laughing:
