Fav. Pearl Jam song?

Let me see them!

khfreek 10-28-2008 04:55 PM

Even Flow. Though I've never really gotten into Pearl Jam, their vocalist annoys me and their songs go on too long.

You sir, fail at music.

Pearl Jam have far too many good songs to name just one ideally. But I'll go with Jeremy, I can't listen to this song within the concept of the album and not be awestruck by how incredible it is.

Dr. Yellow Black 10-28-2008 05:06 PM

Jeremy is very good, I personally like Gone, or Daughter.

Yellow Ledbetter is sweet live though.

Double X 10-28-2008 05:35 PM

Yeah I'll go with Alive. Don't listen to much to Pearl Jam though.

I would say Alive's solo is the best, while Even Flow is the best overall song. There are so many that could easily take its place though :(

Black for me. The ending....just incredibly powerful and depressing.

Ah bollocks, forgot about Daughter, I've been playing too much Ten recently while walking to Uni. Daughter used to be my favourite song, it's very powerfully presented and heartfelt.

Terrible Lizard 10-28-2008 09:20 PM

"Do the Evolution" was alright, Jeremy was well done and I liked Satan's Bed.

Son of JayJamJah 10-28-2008 09:36 PM

Daughter is a favorite of mine.

Yellow Ledbetter, Animals, Jeremy, Garden, Better Man all good songs too.

Roygbiv 10-28-2008 09:48 PM

"Off He Goes" did things to me that no other Pearl Jam song ever did.

miskit 10-29-2008 08:19 AM

I like their self titled album.

Black is the song that got me into Pearl Jam.

Ya, that damn vocalist eddie has one of the best voices to come out of the 90's.

Personally nothing does it like yellow ledbetter and nothingman.

What? A lot of people hate grunge, and I still think it has it's merits. But the vocalist just REALLY grinds my gears. You can't understand a thing he's saying, and he isn't that talented. At least I think so, but people have so many different views when it comes to vocal and musical talent in general.

Do you want to know two GOOD grunge vocalists? Chris Cornell and Layne Staley.

Kurt Cobain...

I also think Vedder's singing is just awesome. Did anyone watch The Who's rock honors? Pearl Jam covers "Love, Reign o'er Me" and I honestly think that Eddie sings it perfectly.

I'm a depressed bastard...Black.

khfreek 10-29-2008 07:43 PM

Perhaps grunge demands a different sort of vocalist (if Kurt Cobain and Eddie Vedder are considered amazing vocalists). In that case, I don't like the typical grunge vocalist. I'm out of this thread then ^_^

CrackcrackcrackityJones 10-30-2008 02:20 PM

Toss up between "Black" and "Yellow Ledbetter".

Bloozcrooz 01-06-2011 12:29 PM

Fan of Yellow ledbetter myself..I still cant fathom that they didnt steal the main idea of that from Kenny Wayne Shepperds "While We Cry" Strikingly similiar parody to it. Not to mention the album it was on was called "Ledbetter Heights". Not taking anything away from Pear Jam. Just for thought.

Sodomy4Hire 01-07-2011 12:30 AM

"Not for You" is the song I return to the most. As a matter of fact, I'd pick just about any old song from Vitalogy over anything else Pearl Jam has done.

BananaPhish 01-11-2011 04:17 AM

Alive would have to be my favorite song, used to play it over and over and over again on the guitar when I was younger. Jeremy and Garden though are close seconds, love the whole album to be honest.
