Haha nobody likes Vivian Girls huh? I think they're pretty good, reminds of that 'K Records' 80's stuff, like Beat Happening, All Girl Summer Fun Band, The Vaselines, of course its not for everyone.

They are overhyped though. I mean, they havent done anything the bands I mentioned havent already done. Still good to know bands are being influenced by the Shaggs however.

Listening to Crystal Stilts for the first time right now...fucking sweet surf/punk/drug music, although according to this thread I'm in the minority.

Yeah. If you haven't already, check out Wavves, judging by your fondness of these two I'm pretty sure you'd like him/them.

I have, in fact. If you haven't already check out Nodzzz, I actually prefer them to Wavves, as cool as their last album was.

The Dazzled from the Crystal Stilts is like my favorite song right now. I love this shoegaze stuff.

I've liked Crystal Stilts for a while now and I finally decided to listen to Vivian Girls on the recommendation of Brad Stengel. Both remind me of bands like Black Tambourine or The Jesus and Mary Chain. I could understand why people wouldn't like the sort of drone and lo-fi it's drenched in, but I personally like it.
