Keane
So, I'm digging the shit out of Spiraling. The synth (or is that a guitar?) line is so awesome it feels like an instant classic. I hope it's not lifted.
Keane - Spiraling I also want to admit that, despite writing a fairly detrimental review of Under the iron sea, I've listened to it quite a bit this summer in preparation for Perfect Symmetry and it's definitely grown on me. So yeah, I'm eagerly awaiting the new album, how about you?

I thought Under The Iron Sea was really the absolute pits. I was always prepared to give Keane a chance, but Tom's songwriting became so predictable and samey, each hook purely reminiscent of the previous one. Looks like they were going for the easy pops. Even if the album was perfectly listenable (it was), the end product was, on the whole, a more or less pretty damn boring experience.
I don't personally believe that he will be able to do any better with the new album, so I'm not exactly holding my breath. But, with that said, I am certainly somewhat curious and will be checking it out all the same. |
