Okay, I gave the album a listen, and it doesnt take long to get used to his voice. Their sound pretty much dominates any crackle or off key wail of his. I'm loving this stuff.

My favorites right now are "Vigil For a Fuddy Duddy", "His Grinning Skull", and of course "Devil's Crayon".

I found these ages ago, but struggled to find anybody who also appreciated them. Brave Bulging was an instant favourite. I'm still practising my vocal impression...

Yeah, I'd have to say that this is one of the more original bands I have heard in a long time. I was pretty excited when I discovered them. The only thing is, whenever I play the album, the first thing I want to do is play the Devils Crayon - which is my favorite song - and let the rest of the album play out from there. After about 20 minutes of it I turn it off because I find it drones a little. That said, I think it is incredible stuff and I am actually really interested to see what they will do next.

And so he has, and they're all the better for it.

And guess who's got a Best new music nod from P4K...(:

You know, I actually haven't listened to anything by Wild Beasts yet. I loved the intro song, but shut it off after maybe 15 seconds of listening to the guys singing. It's terrible at the beginning of the song, but not only does it get much better when he's not doing an old woman's impersonation of Scooby Doo, I find I get somewhat accustomed to it when I actually listen. Though I'm not sure I can take a whole album listening to him... and based off this song, I'm doubting. A shame, since this would easily be a top album without him. I think I'll give it a shot and see if it gets less annoying.

His singing is much more subdued on Two dancers, there's hardly any Scooby Dooing...

Ultimately, I can't listen to this album anymore. I gave the whole thing a shot, and I just can't stand his voice. It's a shame, because the music is really good, just ditch that singer and I'll have a lot more interest.

I'm listening to Two Dancers right now and I'm definately liking their sound. His voice isn't bothering me so far.
