Cocteau Twins
I'm surprised there's no thread on them D: Anyways, I've recently been getting into them and they're beautiful, particularly the vocals. I don't think I need to say much, I kind of like Heaven or Las Vegas better than Treasure. Discuss.

three outstanding albums, the rest is mostly pretty good too.
I love her voice, it's really chilling. Sometimes I feel they could've done a little more with their unique sound, but generally speaking they're an excelent band. I think it's the cocteau twins' vocalist on "Teardrop" by Massive Attack as well, which is obviously an awesome song. edit: Treasure is better than HOLV imo...much more atmospheric and w/ better songwriting. |

Yeah - that pretty much sums it up. I saw them performing Pearly Dewdrops Drops on Whistle Test when I was at school and warmed to them in a sub-goth kinda way. The Pink Opaque is definitely one of the best albums.

Heaven or Las Vegas is my favourite Cocteau Twins album but I love the otherworldly sound of Treasure as well (especially on vinyl). To me Heaven or Las Vegas has their most memorable songs, such as the title track, even though it's not as ethereal and experimental as previous albums.
I also think that Victorialand is their most overlooked album. The lack of drums gives their sound another quality that is hard to find elsewhere.
