it's not dude, it's an act, which currently consists of about 3 or so people. vernon's just the singer/songwriter.
even if the band is not permanent, then still, referring to 'bon iver' as 'he' or 'him' would be like saying "I really love Nine Inch Nails, he's such a good songwriter". it's not intended as a monicker, in the way that say Eluvium is the monicker of Matthew Cooper. You could say that it's a pseudonym for himself and when he tours he uses a backing band. Bon iver sounds like a name instead of a band so you are technically right but the general assumption is that Bon Iver is just one guy.
Anyhow-it's still a great album
