Adam Green
I was going to make a thread for his latest release in the New Releases thread but I figure I'll do that in a few days or so if enough people check him out and like him. Anyway he's nothing mind-blowing he's fun and a good listen. Friends of Mine is my favorite album by him I think so check that one. Oh he's part of the Moldy Peaches also.

I gave him a crack 2 years ago and was like and didn't like one bit. I'm in love with Kimya Dawson who is the other half of Moldy Peaches so I figure I should give another chance.

Personally, I find his stuff to be hilarious, however tasteless and irreverent his lyrics may be at times.
"Baby's Gonna Die Tonight" is one of my favorites. Last edited by million dollar basher; 07-21-2009 at 03:27 PM. |

her daughter, whom I think she named Panda, kept wandering through the crowd and up onto the stage. It was a very interesting evening, but Kimya was very easy to sit and talk to. I'm not a big Moldy Peaches fan, nor am I a fan of Kimya's music by and large, but as a human being, she was a joy to meet. |

I don't know if it's a cover. The chord progression sounds a lot like "Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You", but I can't imagine that the actual lyrics came from any other sick mind than Green's.
One of my all time favorites is "There's no wrong way to **** a chick with no legs. Just tell her you love her as she's crawling away." |

Adam Green and Kimya Dawson used to comprise a two-piece folk group called The Moldy Peaches. They were revered by second and third generation hipster kids for their low-fi recordings and simplistic, softspoken folk ditties. "Anyone Else but You" was perhaps their most popular tune, and you may have heard it on the soundtrack for the film "Juno".
Eventually, the two split and tried to jumpstart solo careers. Adam Green has entertained more success than Kimya, and this might not come as much of a surprise to MP fans as Green was far more talented both as a musician and a songwriter. While Kimya continued to embrace the lightheartedness that she exuded in the Moldy Peaches, Green chose to incorporate more graphic and irreverent elements into his solo material. |
