Picked up the new one just today so only played it once but it sounds stronger than 'Devotion', on which only 'Wedding Bell', 'Heart Of Chambers' (gorgeous) and 'Home Again' were keepers for me ultimately. Sounds like they've stepped it up a notch and delivered a more consistent LP. Early days though, like I say.

Yeah, it's definitely more consistent. Stronger songwriting. I was under the impression that Legrand was just the voice but she does the organs too which is basically the anchor of their style.

I've seen Teen Dream being bandied around all over the place recently, seems to be the 'in' album at the moment.
Having listened to it once so far, I can definately say it has the potential to become a real highlight of 2010. It has that same lazy, ethereal calm underpinning the music that initially endeared me to Cocteau Twins - it's like a cross between Victorialand and Heaven or Las Vegas. |
