I dunno why but I find this band completely irritating! I possibly don't know enough of their stuff to say too much but they had that Coin Operated Boy song that just made me wanna throw my radio out of the window...

The only album i have is Yes, Virginia... and it's a cracking album. My fav songs on it are Sex Changes, Backstabber, Delilah, Mandy Goes To Med School and Sing. I never really had the chance to get their other albums, i might get them sometime in the near future. Are they still together anymore or what's the story? I know both of them have their own projects.

"Coin Operated Boy" isn't one of their better songs and I'd also say that they're one of those bands that are way better live than on album. The first time I ever heard them they were the opening act at a chow I went to an I was totally blown away.

So we're sorta saying that coin operated boy is to Dresden Dolls as, say, Creep is to Radiohead? :-)

I love this band. My favorite song by far has to be Slide. It's just so haunting and downright creepy near the end - I mean, come on, a song about a little girl getting kidnapped from the park? It's eerie in subject matter yet gorgeous in execution.

Bumping this thread quite a bit. No, Virginia is one of the best CD's I've ever heard. Pity the future is looking grim for them ever touring together again. Amanda Palmer is littered with side projects from her solo show, to producing plays at her high school, and her project Evelyn, Evelyn.
I'd like to see them again.

Bump again. Anyone that wants to keep up with what Amanda Palmer is doing now, you can join her email list. Her emails are rather witty and really informative. The best part is that she doesn't flood your inbox with pointless emails, she only sends them out when there is something important to be said.
JOIN THE LIST She has been busy lately with Evelyn Evelyn and she just came out with an album covering Radiohead hits with a Ukulele, which I unfortunately haven't got a chance to give a decent listen to.

I only have their self titled, which I really like. I saw them at Lollapalooza in 06. I only went to their stage because a friend of mine whose music taste I trust recommended them to me. I'm with Janszoon...they really did tear it up live. I went right over to the cd tent and bought the debut. When I saw them, Amanda Palmer decided to change right on stage and I totally saw her topless. She was trying to change discreetly but it just didn't work out.
