McLusky
The lack of mention of them on here is saddening. Do Dallas is beautiful, though that's not really the right word to describe it. They're like angry indie punk with lots of shoutyness and guitars, it's kind of like Big Black or an angry version of Pixies. Steve Albini produced Do Dallas =]

If it was 2002 I wouldn't have shut up about them.

I love Do Dallas. I always wanted to check out more but they split up and I forgot :(
oh well now we have Future of the Left. Do Dallas is the only album I've attempted to review, and actually completed - and it turned out OK considering I was 16 at the time. Too much of it is an anti Wales tirade for no apparent reason other than it's Wales, though. Aw well it's funny. |
Ahhh yes I love the song "whiteliberalonwhiteliberalaction"

Its dawned on me recently just how much i love them. An awesome band that satisfy both my need for pure loud-ness and catchy tunes as well. Do Dallas is incredible, and Mcluskyism is a brilliant compilation.
I'm not sure if any bands can hold a mantle to the Pixies, but damn Mclusky come close. |
Falco's got the manliness scream known to man.

I'm not too familiar with McLusky, but I like Future of the Left a lot. Favorite songs of McLusky?

I think the whole of Do Dallas is brilliant, if I had to pick one song though it'd be "To Hell With Good Intentions". Amazing track.

More of these new Arcade Fire like indie bands need to sound like McLusky. Indie rock needs to be louder and more vulgar. Have you ever checked out Future of the Left? Not as good as McLusky but who is?
