Default Teenage Fanclub

It's kind of like if Big Star decided to be louder and more guitar-driven. I've really really been loving Bandwagonesque, probably one of the best pop albums of the 90s.

Recommendations:
What You Do To Me
December
Star Sign
Pet Rock

Grand Prix is good.

A Catholic Education is my fave , it's a little bit more ballsy.

Bandwagonesque is where it's at. A really good album, i should really get some more Teenage Fanclub.

I saw them live in January, they were pretty cool but I only knew about a quarter of the songs...still a good show though.

I've honestly never heard of them but, they kinda sound like sonic youth from the songs I've heard on their myspace

I only have their Grand Prix album. Well made guitar led pop music.

I have all their albums but the only one I keep going back to is man-made.

Anyone heard what they are up to of late? Recording?

I really love Teenage Fanclub - although if you mention it these days, people assume you're just into jangly guitar Byrds / Big Star type bands. It all started with 'A Catholic Education' for me - 'Everything Flows' has to be one of the best Fanclub tracks ever. They've shown some real diversity during their career - from the hard edged debut through to more experimental noise stuff on 'The King' and pure pop harmonies on many of the later albums. A personal career progression tracklisting for me would include:

Everything Flows
Mudhoney
Star Sign
Sparky's Dream
Mellow Doubt
Neil Jung
Ain't That Enough
Winter
I Need Direction
Fallen Leaves

In fact, I feel a ten track compilation coming on...

Sparky's Dream is a perfect pop song..and go for it. A comp would be greatly recieved.
