Detlef is an amazing song, so beautiful. I remember reading that the song was inspired by or written about Seattle and Detlef was obviously a popular sports figure there at the time. Maybe that's as far as it goes? I don't know how that song was not hugely popular.

I'd love to see Band of Horses release a new album that's on par with Everything All the Time and Cease to Begin. After the turd of an album that was Mirage Rock they really need to.

For some reason I seem to be in the minority on that one. I won't say its as good as the earlier ones but I do like it and dont find it a "turd".

When I first listened to Mirage Rock I thought it was kind of okay, perhaps I was just happy at hearing a new Band of Horses album. The second time I listened to it my face just dropped. And this was the same band that wrote The Funeral.

"The Funeral" is the best known song of the Band of Horses, but they have many great songs like for example "No one's gonna love you"
