Death Cab For Cutie is one of my favorites. I recently bought Transatlanticism and Plans- both excellent. Title and Registration and Tiny Vessels are probably my favorites.

Wow, people are pretty angry in this thread.
Anywho, their name and fan base gave me an ugly feeling about them, then I heard a couple of songs. I guess I like the more for their unique sound, and by unique I mean they don't attempt to be another band. Their refrains seem to be the most devestating of any band out today. I can't explain that, it just is...to me at least.
