How about Everything But The Girl? Are they considered trip-hop? Just a little?

Only their last two albums had major electronic themes (and I happen to love both). Their early stuff was more twee pop/indie.

Thread moved to the more apt Electronica forum.

Terranova-Close The Door is an erratic album but there are a couple of decent tracks.

I don't think trip-hop tends to be linked so much to hip-hop. it doesn't sound like hip-hop music at all, least not in my conception of what hiphop is. not in my experience, anyway. trip hop is more like downtempo electronica music.

Trip Hop initially referred to laid back raps over jazz/funk/soul beats. Usually collaborations between bands. It is down tempo, but if there is no rap then it is merely ambient/chillout/downtempo.

I love trip hop, though i can't really think of anything besides damn massive attack

Speaking of Mezzanine, Inertia Creeps has been on heavy rotation in my car lately.

One of the greatest beats I've ever heard.

I think people are struggling to find more artists because of the general size of the Trip Hop scene. It was relatively small, though it has had a wide influence.

I expect a revival in the next ten years really.
