I was listening to Volume One last night and it is excellent. I love Zooey's voice (and in general). I still need to check out an M. Ward album.

Zooey Deschanel is divine as ever. Something about M.Ward that I just can't get along with though. His music always feels awkward to me and I just can't get into it.

The music is pretty good, she has a really good voice. i don't think it's something to rave over but definitely enjoyable. from what i hear she is dating ben gibbard, why they don't do anything together is beyond me.

Is that 'You Really Got A Hold On Me' video awkward or what? Is she she cheating on Gibbard with Ward or something?

It's probably because M. Ward is the most unoriginal musician ever, which wouldn't be a problem if it didn't sound like the most unoriginal music ever. I can't really listen to She & Him songs where he sings.

YouTube - This Little Light Of Mine (Live In Dublin)

YouTube - One Hundred Million Years, M. Ward

It's just ... cringe worthy. I don't mind plagiarism in music too much, you hear a good tune and you want to do something with it. But it's shamelessly twisting it and then trying to pass it off as vaguely original.

Yeah, her stage presence is definitely very lacking and somewhat uncomfortable to watch. On the plus side, nice legs.

I just saw them on Elvis Costello's show 'Spectacle' last night. Good stuff. They did some songs with Elvis and Jenny Lewis.
