Black Moth Super Rainbow

I just got Dandelion Gum and Start A People i'm loving both. I think my favorite song is Hazy Field. I don't really know who they remind me of and I would just list their last.fm similar artists but they're not usually very accurate at all. So yeah just check it out.

Recommendations:
Hazy Field
When the Sun Grows On Your Tongue
Drippy Eye

Instead of linking to their myspace i'll link to their last.fm since it has four free tracks.

I don't generally love this type of music, but this was pretty awesome.

Drippy eye is great

I've had dandelion gum for a while but it hasn't moved me.

Dandelion Gum is getting a lot of plays from me, just as yummy as the name suggests. I realise Dandelions probably don't taste good, but gum does, so yeah.

Oh my god. oh my god. yes.
This album is amazing I love the technical aspect Octopus Project brings to the show. I have 'Psychic Swellings' as the ringtone on my phone right now. :D

Yeah and I think the new one that just leaked is 'Eating Us' I have that and Dandelion Gum and like them a lot. They're albums where I don't really focus on specific songs as the whole thing drifts on seamlessly.

I've never really gotten into them, "Dandelion Gum" was sort of a struggle through listen. It really just failed to keep my attention is all.

I quite like the new album, more of the same but in a more bitesize package. Great summer music, if only the weather hadn't gone rubbish today :(

BlueCadet 04-30-2009 10:27 AM

I caught them live about a week ago and to be honest they were pretty boring.

I'm glad you think so. Seeing them hopefully in August they're playing in Chapel Hill. I wish I had gone to Bonnaroo to see Tobacco.

Hmm... seems to be some mixed opinions here. I loved Dandelion Gum; haven't heard anything else by them but it quickly moved into a position as one of my favorite albums. The music isn't really much like anything else I've listened to, I guess it's heavy on vocoder? It captured my attention immediately with their quirky electronic sound. The Octopus Project is a very similar band, I would say they are a little more technical. I know it's been said in this thread before, but their collaboration album is amazing. If you like BMSR, check it out you'll love it.

I listened to Sun Lips and I'm interested, downloading Dandeloin Gum right now.

EDIT: Listened most of the album and I'm really enjoying it, I love the thick, electronic sound

Never heard of The Octopus Project, I'll check them out. I love electronic music, but I honestly haven't really gotten into it yet. I've been exposed to electronic mostly through bands I listen to that are influenced by it and incorperate it into their music. I know and love a few electronic artists though like Flying Lotus.
