We Rocks the Party is the only song on that album that I don't like. Hopefully I'll get to see them in Germany.

swim 09-20-2007 08:55 PM

They're playing at Duke Coffeehouse. I'm excited y0.

Mouseketeer 09-21-2007 10:36 AM

I have 'Inches' but I'm not too impressed.

adidasss 09-21-2007 01:00 PM

The new album is the dog's bollocks...on the first listen that is.

Alo 09-24-2007 04:12 PM

I have inches, and I liked it. It's more of an album you listen while doing something else than real quality listen-to-intensely-music. I might go to their concert though, that could be fun.

What a load of nonsense. Why would Inches *not* be listen-to-intensely music? The lyrics are incredibly sophisticated, the rhythms expertly delivered, and the guitar work absolutely unbelievable. This is one of the most legitimately arty bands I've come across.

Question to ETHAN~!: would this, in any world, be regarded as emo or even emo-esque?

ahh thats the only song I've heard.
I'm trying to get into them but I honestly have no idea where to start.
Any suggestions from someone who knows what their talking about?

"Let's Stay Friends", while it's Les Savy Fav through and through, is probably not the best place to start as it's significantly more poppy than their other stuff. I'd suggest Inches, which is pretty much the definitive LSF album. It gathers together various singles not previously available elsewhere, spanning over 8 years. If you like that, you'll like the band.

blainey 03-19-2008 02:56 AM

The Sweat Descends (off Inches) is probably the most played song on my Ipod. Lets Stay Friends was in my top ten (probably five) records of 2007. Harrington is the pinnacle of fat, balding psychopaths anywhere in the world. I love LSF, wish they would come to Australia some time soon.

Rainard Jalen 03-19-2008 03:14 AM

Oh, so you're an Aussie. Go comment on my Muscles thread...PRONTO!

Agreed that LSF was top 10 material of 2007. I had it as my personal number 10, in fact.

Sneer 03-19-2008 08:19 AM

theyre playing literally 10 minutes away from my house in a few weeks

Molecules 03-19-2008 03:28 PM

no comment. which in itself is probably a comment.

Yes. I wouldn't really consider them an Emo band myself, but they're definitely influenced by it and share a lot of elements with some Emo and Post-Emo.

One of my favorite bands. Anyone who doesn't absolutely adore them can go fuck themselves, basically.

sleepy jack 03-21-2008 07:47 PM

I fuck myself to Les Savy Fav.

they do scream at the end of their tracks but that does't make them emo does it?

sleepy jack 03-21-2008 07:51 PM

She never said they were emo...

I miss read her post.....sorry =[

Rainard Jalen 03-22-2008 08:50 AM

Anyway, yeah. This is one of the best bands like of all time. I'ma tryin' to find what to do after Inches and Let's Stay Friends. Any reccos?

sleepy jack 03-22-2008 10:18 AM

I only have those two and The Cat and the Cobra which I enjoy.

Expletive Deleted 03-22-2008 10:27 AM

You're both LSF n00bs! I'd say just go in chronological order through their discog, or if you want to go in order of quality:

Inches > Go Forth > Rome (Written Upside Down) > The Cat and the Cobra > 3/5 > Let's Stay Friends

They also have two little EPs, Plagues and Snakes and an Australian tour one, but they're not really worth tracking down unless you really, really like them.
