Rufus Wainwright
Guess I'd better make one. To sum up what I would say if I weren't lazy and felt like dedicating a whole post to what I think of dear Rufus:
Blah blah blah genius blah blah sexy blah blah amazing blah *swoon* Release the Stars is outstanding, and I'm seeing him live the week after next. :D :D :D |
I only have Poses and Want One. Hes basically the shit. And if Patrick Wolf never existed he'd be the sexiest singer/songwriter ever.

I also highly recommend you download Want One and his S/T as well. Want One was the first album of his I heard, and of course I instantly fell in love with it. The S/T took me a little longer to get into for some reason, but it's just as good as his other stuff. Oh, and I'll admit that Patrick Wolf is pretty cute, but it's Rufus Wainwright we're talking about here. Sex personified. |
i have "want two" its pretty good.
|
I'll grab his new album and self-titled.
And patrick is soooooooooooo hotter. Remember the Magic Position? http://static.rateyourmusic.com/album_images/481745.jpg enough said. |
I'm seeing him too, at the El Rey.

I'm only kind of disappointed to be missing Friday. IMO it's the weakest day in the lineup. |
Interpol and the Arcitic Monkeys are playing Friday...Jesus, is this the best festival in the world??? *criesindesperation*
OT: I've downloaded some of his albums a while back, can't seem to find the time to listen to them.... |
I only know 'Cigarettes and Chocolate Milk' and that's quite a cool song, also his cover of 'Halleluiah' is pretty good.
Oh, but Patrick Wolf ftw! |

/motivation he used to get marijan into patrick wolf. /turning this thread into a patrickwolf/rufuswainwright thread. |
Actually, I've discussed this on the homo forum, he's butt ugly and a pansy...not my thang...;)
Oh well, maybe he makes good muzak, I'm sure I'll listen to it and fall in love with it years after everyone else... |
Want one seems to be better than Want two right?
|
Ok, I'm having multiple orgasms whilst listening to Go or Go ahead...:-|

Rufus Wainwright
this guy is pretty cool, i downloaded a heap of his songs, the one i like best (out of 8 or songs) is 'going to a town'. i recommend this song to anyone who hasn't heard it yet.
and while you're downloading/listening rufus met a guy at a bar one night. Rufus wanted to go into a park to see ''a big concert that was going on'', the guy he was with raped and robbed and started to strangle him, the only way rufus was saved was by faking an epileptic fit. he was celibate for the next 7 years. and he was also addicted to crystal meth for a couple years i think. (got this from wikipedia). so, DOWNLOAD!! or BUY!! NOW!! or discuss also, if you cant find the song, gimme your e-mail and ill send it to you. |
You've been here how long?

My love for Rufus goes deep, very very deep. I can go for weeks without listening to his music, but every time I come back to it it goes to the core.
Going to see him live here in London in a few weeks time. Can't wait. I've seen him a few times before and a Rufus gig is always amazing. |
rufus is THE man, blows anyone out of the water on the scene today, hands down. his voice is ridiculous and he can do something so many artists seem to have forgotten how to do: Write pop songs! he has real melodies with cool arrangements and clever lyrics, with a killer voice to boot. he better win some awards and start getting some major recognition soon or there's just no hope anymore...r0ck on rufus

I love his music! Cigarettes and Chocolate Milk gets stuck in my head all the time. :)

Why does this guy not get more love? Seriously, get his shit.
Now |
I like his music. He's also very articulate and snide, but a funny thing about him is that he harbours so much resentment for Madonna. I bet she snubbed him or something.
|
I think out of all his songs, this is definitely my favourite:
