i'm in 100% agreeance with that post, i definitely think that less established bands could benefit from this approach. most likely a lesser known band will have a loyal following who, if respectful, will gladly donate what they can afford for an album, video, or rarities.

if anything, i think less established bands could benefit MORE than established ones, financially at least. as hard as it is to get ppl to go out and buy albums nowadays, it's even harder for bands to generate some income since money from sales hardly gets to them anyway. i think underground bands will see less pirating of their music and more donations, while bigger bands might not see as many donations, and probably still a high degree of pirating due to their popularity.
