I should state though that I don't hate the Bends, I just don't think its special with the exception of Street Spirit. High and Dry will always hold a special place in my heart since it was the first Radiohead song I heard and the only one I really liked for awhile. In addition to that the acoustic driven tracks were what got me into OK Computer.

I think i explained why they werent mediocre perfectly with my opinion on the songs you class as such. Just because other bands are making similiar sounds it doesnt mean what radiohead were doing was mediocre, so what if it was plain indie rock? it doesnt have to be earth shatteringly original to be seen as above mediocre, look at nevermind, revolver, nevermind the bollocks etc for example. I happen to think they were doing what other bands were doing A WHOLE LOT BETTER, but thats a subjective viewpoint so we'll agree to disagree on that one. Plus, i dont think its even THAT similiar to other stuff around at the time if im honest.

3. Amnesiac
4. In Rainbows
5. HTTT/The Bends
7. Pablo Honey

And on the note of Radiohead....Can anyone tell me the time signature the Pyramid Song is in? It's been bugging me for a long time now....

The new Radiohead album was on sale digitally by the band. The band asked for donations in exchange for the album and got an average of 8$ per album. They sold 1.2M albums. Sales are at about $10 million in one week, that’s more than their last three albums combined did during their respective launch weeks.

i commend radiohead for taking this approach, and what better group to do it than them. i really think this is the way of the future and it's definitely much more sound from an environmental standpoint.

Unfortunately this only works for artist that are well established like Radiohead.

What makes me curious is who is donating the BIG BUCKS so that all those who donated $1 average out to $8?

What makes me curious is why you assume a bunch of people paid 1$, I imagine alot paid 0$. I think what balanced it out to 8$ is people, you know actually wanting to support the band in their decision to go this way.

The people who weren't going to pay anything probably just downloaded it off of a torrent site or something.
