I stated what a ballad was in the post, it was answered before you even asked.

oh, and id say fake plastic tree's, high and dry, nice dream, bullet proof and street spirit could all be classified as ballads (although its debateable considering radioheads knack of building up to a end crecendo, certainly in the case of nice dream), but that really is a moot point as to me any comparisons between radiohead and U2 is like comparing bon jovi to led zeppelin.

"Okay, if you're going to cite a source why not keep using the same source?" Meaning, how come you only switch up sites every argument instead of sticking to the same one which could provide information about the subject. The answer: because that site agrees with me on one thing but not the other so I need to find one that does. "I'm going to take a wild stab at thefreedictionary probably saying something" Wild stab, also known as a GUESS. Meaning I hadn't looked it up on freedictionary, so you know I had nothing to interpret. "along the lines of a ballad is a poem written meant to be sung or a popular romance song (which it is)." Theres where I stated what a ballad was. "It probably does say that, my dictionary does" theres where I back it up and apparently thefreedictionary agrees too. "so naturally you wouldn't use it because it contradicts your statements and you don't want that, you want to be "right not accurate"." Already covered that, so done! |

I should state though that I don't hate the Bends, I just don't think its special with the exception of Street Spirit. High and Dry will always hold a special place in my heart since it was the first Radiohead song I heard and the only one I really liked for awhile. In addition to that the acoustic driven tracks were what got me into OK Computer. |
