Yah, I prefer The Bends to In Rainbows and OKC. Big woop.

sleepy jack 10-16-2007 10:36 PM

Uhh okay, then why the hell did you post that image?

ProggyMan 10-16-2007 10:38 PM

Because I think that it's funny how he made your statement out to be absolutely ridiculous when it's partially true.

sleepy jack 10-16-2007 10:39 PM

Yeah but you prefer the Bends over OK Computer...

ProggyMan 10-16-2007 10:45 PM

Yah, but I agree that Radiohead was a regular 90's Alt Rock band before Ok Computer, and I consider OKC to be greater than the Bends, I just prefer the Bends.

Frickin make sense if you want to argue. OK Computer has their greatest songs, but the The Bends has stronger songwriting over-all. Both are classic. Fake Plastic Trees, Just, My Iron Lung, Street Spirit, just to name a couple tracks are not the work of a "regular 90's Alt Rock band."

i have difficulty even comparing the bends and ok computer, tho it's even more difficult to compare those to kid A or in rainbows. different music from different eras, i'm a bigger fan of the more innovative radiohead stuff, meaning Kid A, Amnesiac, and Hail to the Theif. it's too early for me to make an assessment on In Rainbows but so far i think it's a good blend of Kid A and OK Computer, tho not entirely sure just yet.

completely disagree with radiohead being an average alt rock band before OKC. The bends is quality, as aforementioned, just, my iron lung, street spirit, bones and fake plastic trees are anything but average. The only british alt band that were making albums of equal quality at the time was blur (and oasis if you like that sort of thing)

The Bends is about 30% worth listening to and 70% not, it seems to be made up mostly of mediocre songs like Planet Telex, The Bends and Bones. I don't see why people praise it when its only got a few tracks deserving of praise, yeah it marked a change in Radiohead and hinted at what they would be but so what? They weren't there yet. I suppose amongst all the bad Manic Street Preachers albums and Beatles rip offs it was a breath of fresh air, but it still wasn't much different from other 90s act and even if it was, we're well past the mid-90s now.
