I really hope not , that's the one song on OK Computer that's dated worse than the rest of them & just makes them sound like some average 90s guitar band.

Returning to that would be a step backwards in my book.

i think thid was the right direction for the band to take. To me its the equivalent of taking a step back from the experimental quagmire of their last three albums and regathering a piece of sanity. Dont get me wrong, i LOVE kid A, amnesiac and HTTT (HTTT and Amnesiac are my top two radiohead albums in fact), but by producing a more sparce, colder, spacious and measured piece the band are evading the perils of stagnation and keeping things fresh. I thinks its closest cohort is OK computer, and although not as good in my opinion, to me its a welcomed direction.

it's an amalgamation of all radiohead, if you ask me, which is why I love it.

I didn't care for the direction they went after OK Computer. Kid A/Amnesia where bold moves, but not my cup of tea. HTTT was simply a difficult album, a bunch of styles that never come together, including a couple of really annoying songs. The problem with Radiohead is they're more concerned with affecting their audience's expectations of their music, rather than just producing music.

Radiohead were just a lame 90s alt-rock band until OK Computer. I think they care plenty about what they're putting out, the material they're releasing now actually has substance.

I agree with you. Except for the song "Street Spirit" (last on The Bends) which is a total atmospheric masterpiece in my eyes.

this new album...originally I was disappointed as I thought it was just more of the same from the band, not particularly interesting. Further listens have made this grow on me, REMARKABLY. I now consider it an extremely good album, possibly my third favourite by this band after OKC and Kid A. I'm not a massive Radiohead fan, but I do like them and I have lots of respect for them. And for me this album has no weak songs. "Nude", "Weird Fishes", "All I Need" and "Videotape" are all AMAZING! "Reckoner" too. The only disappointment is that it isn't a marked change from what they've done before, but it's a minor disappointment because the album is full of lush, brilliantly written songs. Good work Radiohead.

I wouldn't go as far as saying lame , average yes.

But then you probably never heard Shed 7 , The Longpigs or Kula Shaker , that's what truley bad british alt rock sounded like.

I had heard a lot of the songs from the 2006 tour.
Faust ARP was a new one for me, but it sounded alright.
I really dislike Bodysnatchers, but as a whole I thought it was a great album.
