Twisted Wheel
Twisted Wheel
MySpace.com - TWISTED WHEEL - Oldham, Manchester, UK - www.myspace.com/thetwistedwheel A young Manchester band making a noise on the local scene. Musically minimalist and lyrically..."tellin' it as it is!" MarK E Smith would grudgingly approve. |

I'm not surprised you didn't like them LesPaul.
I toyed with the idea of putting them in the Punk, or even Ska forum before dropping them in here. This band might be of more interest to someone with an interest in the Artic Monkeys for instance, there's a faint resemblance. Still early days for them yet, but a record contract shouldn't be too far away and they have a good live gig fanbase. |

Formed in Feb this year? A good turnaround already. A quintessential English sound I think. Potential there definitely. One to watch.

On the verge of something big.
Twisted Wheel have been playing to packed clubs around the town and the vibe is growing. Manchester is alive again and this band are leading the way. Wanted by a reported 15 labels...watch this space. The buzz: "The sound of Manchester's youth snatching back '60s psychedelia and using it to smash in the windows of '77 punk." The truth: Rock critics who, since the Stone Roses, have shown they Like A Bit Of Rough, will be wassailing and genuflecting in the aisles at In The City. Most likely to: Soundtrack the next Ken Loach movie - Kes: The Resurrection. Least likely to: Team up with tomorrow's New Band Of The Day, post-2step producer/performer T2. File next to: Arctic Monkeys, The Fall, Bromheads Jacket, The Clash. What to buy: You Stole The Sun will be released in November by who-knows-who (that's not the label's name, we genuinely don't know yet). |

Have these fellas released anything yet? All is suspiciously quiet and I want something tangible sitting on my hard drive!

Nothing yet, but they have a 7" E.P on vinyl out next week on Columbia records. 'You Stole the Sun'.
Still doing the circuits and building up a strong fan base. I expected them to hit it big by this time of this year...looks like they're doing it the hard way. Not a bad thing. |

Listening to "You Stole the Sun" now...the longer I listen to it, the more awesome it becomes!
Wait...now "Let them Have it All" is playing...also good. I've decided I must download this when it's released.
