Agreed, the only standout for now is An Eluardian instance. There are flashes of pop brilliance all over the album but as you say, there's no flow to it and they're just too few and far between to keep you interested. I'm gonna keep listening to it but I don't see how it can surpass their previous 3 albums...(I have been known to drastically change my opinion though so maybe I'll have a breakthrough of sorts with this one too...*fringerscrossed*). It's definitely not as bad as the new Bloc Party. Now that's a stinker...:|

Do you think the tracklisting is messed up? The opener sounds like a opener but the end song doesn't really, and throughout the songs don't mix into each other well at all....
I don't think Intimacy stinks, it just left me disappointed for the most part. Again.

Yeah it might be a rough draft or something, the songs definitely don't flow into each other but really, I don't see how you can arrange them to make a good album, the songs just aren't there...:\

And Intimacy really has nothing to offer, just the same old recycled crap, only with literally no catchy hooks or memorable moments of any kind. They were a one trick pony, if you disregard a few songs off AWITC.

Oh, does anyone else think the fantastic trumpet hook at the beginning of An Eluardian instance should have been repeated throughout the rest of the song? I so ought to become a producer...*sigh*

i wanted to make a record that could truly surprise a listener. to create something that was, in turns, enraging, joyous, discomforting, playful, lovely, unpleasant, freaky, mesmeric…something that came close to capturing the labyrinthine complexity of this human consciousness.

i spend most of my time in a state of mild confusion and pensiveness. i imagine most people do too. this record is my attempt to bring all of my puzzling, contradicting, disturbing, humorous…fantasies, ruminations and observations to the surface, so that i can better dissect and understand their reason for being in my head. hence the title, Skeletal Lamping. Lamping is the name of a rather dreadful hunting technique where, hunters go into the forest at night, flood an area in light, then shoot,or capture,the animals as they panic and run from their hiding places.

this album is my attempt at doing this to my proverbial skeletons. i haven’t yet decided if i should shoot or just capture them though.

So it appears that the track listing is correct and the awkward transitions intentional?

. Not got around to hearing this yet be interested to see if he is talking sense or just defending a duff album.

I could not agree with you more. I feel whereas before the Lo-Fi aspect of the music came off in a more complex and sophisticated way, this attempt seems cluttered and disorganized. This album seems much more experimental in its genre bending/blending which is somewhat appreciated, some what not.
