Ive actually heard people say before, that "The *** Parade" by of Montreal was the closest anyone has ever came to Smile. I disagree though, its whimsical, but Smile had alot of other more serious songs to it, much more multidimensional.

This is another band that's likely to meet my shit list because of my fucking roommate playing them to death. I'll probably grow to hate them soon, but until then these are some of my favorites:

The *** Parade
Hissing Fauna, Are You the Destroyer?
Satanic Panic in the Attic

It's interesting to see the set list for a covers show with so many big-name classic rockers, neil young, the who, etc. and not really recognize too many of the songs. Would have liked to have seen that show.

From what I've read it seems REALLY hit or miss with listeners, but seeing as I love what I've heard so far, I'm looking forward to purchasing what may well be one of my favorite albums of 2008.

Hahaha I know. I love how they complain that its not as poppy as "Hissing Fuana", yet "The Sunlandic Twins" which is much poppier (and better) than Fuana also got a crappy review.

And I just got the album today, I like it (an Eluardian Instance is INCREDIBLE), and from what I've heard it's a grower for sure. Can't wait to see them on the 30th!

I love Of Montreal. I like their newer stuff more than their earlier stuff right now. It's so much funkier and I love singing along to it. I want to try to get into the earlier music, what I've heard so far sounds very cute...?

I need to listen to their older stuff but ...

Sunlandic Twins is boring.
Hissing Fauna is brilliant.
Skeletal Lamping is a hit or miss. I like it actually.
