I have never heard The Holy Bible. Gold Against The Soul had some OK tracks on it. I have always thought that they were just another average band. Is Holy Bible THAT good then?

my preference...
1. The Holy Bible (1994) - "Ifwhiteamericatoldthetruthforoneday..." 2. Generation Terrorists (1992) - "Condemned To Rock 'N' Roll" 3. This Is My Truth Tell Me Yours (1998) - "Be Natural" 4. Everything Must Go (1996) - "No Surface All Feeling" 5. Gold Against the Soul (1993) - "Gold Against The Soul" 6. Know Your Enemy (2001) - "Miss Europa Disco Dancer" 7. Lifeblood (2004) 8. Send Away the Tigers (2007) ....still haven't mustered the courage to attempt the last two albums. I fear it will tarnish my view on them... 'Know your enemy' was hard enough to listen to. One day.

the Holy Bible ****ed me up, properly. Probably. And people are going to hate me but I like 'Lifeblood'. It's just lowkey and good in the winter, sometimes. And I get nostalgic listening to 'Know Your Enemy', cos thats when I was getting into music innit. But honestly how can Nicky ****ing Wire accept an NME award for Godlike Genius with a clear conscience? It's not exactly a people's award is it? Personally I look to Gruff Rhys for my inspiration from the valleys.
Has anybody heard McCarthy, the band that inspired them? 'Keep an open mind or else' |
