Gravenhurst - Flashlight Seasons (2003)
I did a search and I was surprised I din't find any post about this **absolutely beautiful** album... a must for grey, rainy, mellancollic days...
The lyrics are amazing, and the music is delicate and full of nuances... it got me hooked for weeks of non-stop listening. I listen mostly to other types of music so I can't give you good references but a safe comparisson is Marissa Nadler (I think). Gravenhurst - Tunnels My memories keep me feverish and sane That night alive with stars and signs i can't explain I recall an autumn fire, A burnt out car The shutdown cinema Do you? It's never the same this way The world versus itself It's them and us, There's no-one else Shoot a glance across the room Lightning strikes, No-one moves Tunnels we dig into our tired souls Rip up the foundations expose all the holes Tearing away at the tense and frayed supports I understand anger, I know what it's for Get it and tell me what you think |

The cause of his death was undisclosed. However he did have epilepsy.
I've been playing their album Fires in Distant Buildings regularly over the past few months and I really enjoy the hell out of it. It's good slow-burning music for the winter months.
