The only album I own by them is Deep Cuts, which is a very strong album.

I also own Karin's solo project "Fever Ray", and absolutely LOVE it. Anyone else ever give that a listen?
Fever Ray is a great album, but I prefer The Knife overall. You should give Silent Shout a try.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

Urgh, I tried Deep Cuts twice, couldn't get through it either time. I hate it.

Which is odd because I love Silent Shout. Well, it's not really odd since the vocals are 1,000% better on Silent Shout, and it's much more consistent overall. But man, Deep Cuts is butts

I think that's odd. I really like the 80s-esque synthpop thing they did on Deep Cuts. Silent Shout is good but I never feel like listening to it -- I go for Fever Ray over Silent Shout every time.

edit: I do see what you mean though. The vocals are all over the place, but I like them. She often reminds me of Bjork and Alison Shaw of The Cranes. The guy's vocals are.. cartoonish but I think the album is overall a lot more fun than Silent Shout.

I listened to Silent Shout for the first time last night... mehhhh. It's good, but it was recommended as a 5* album. I prefer Fever Ray too.

It grew on me, I thought it was 'meh' the first time as well.

"Like a Pen", "We Share Our Mother's Health", and the title track are in my top ten synth-pop tracks of all time.

I still haven't checked out Fever Ray, though with the praise she's getting here I probably should.

Also, I had always thought it was only the sister that does vocals, albeit very distorted sometimes-- are you sure the brother does vocals too?

edit: No, you're definitely right. He does the vocals too.

Agreed. It could be argued that Silent Shout is a better album, but darker and more moody, less fun. Both are good for different moods.
