The new album, "The boy with no name" is oot and aboot. More of the same from them, which is quite fine with me. I've learned to love all their albums and this one is definitely growing on me. Perfect mellow, melancholic singalongs for these rainy spring days...

Queue the hate-fest.:-/

It's the sort of music I call chinga chinga-because that's what all the guitar riffs sound like-perfectly inoffensive music-but it just does not do anything for me whatsoever.

Different strokes I suppose...they appeal to my softer, more romantic side.;)

I want to hate Travis , but I can't bring myself to do it because they always do one really good song an album.

They're popular here, because they are Scottish. Unfortunately, their music is unbelievably bland.

I have one album and it's pretty boring minus a few songs.

I think their name is a good suggestion of what their music is like to me, i.e boring.

I have to admit to liking the Track Turn, Turn, Turn but I don't like anything else by them which is strange because I like Embrace and they are quite similar i.e boring as hell. I will never understand how my mind works.

I don't quite understand how you can say something is boring as hell but you like it. If you like it, that means it doesn't bore you no?

I don't really dig Travis but I believe they have a few good tunes

Their music is uninspiring and cliched and I hear this when I listen to it, yet I still never turn it off. It's the same with a few bands I listen to.

Can't say that I agree with you. I also wouldn't categorize any music I listen to and enjoy as "boring as hell". And what does clichéd and uninspiring mean anyway?

A sound that is derivative and sounds similar to many other bands. Having no discernible qualities that set's it apart from similar guitar bands. Just because of my apathy, it does not mean that I can't listen to it!

I suppose "uninspiring" has to be a matter of opinion, but "cliched" and "generic" are pretty non-negotiable.

I haven't actually ever heard a single song by Travis. Reckon I might like them, Marijan?

Well give me any group and I can find at least half a dozen others that sound like them, how does that reflect on the quality of a certain band? I'd imagine so, what threw me off was you saying that you like Embrace, which are supposedly similar to Travis. Liking something isn't the same as being indifferent towards them.

Not sure how you managed that, they have had plenty of hits. You've never heard Sing, Turn, Why does it always rain on me? Along with those, you should listen to The cage (which is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard), Flowers in the window, Love will come through, Somewhere else, Happy to hang around...all fantastic by my account.

Consider Embrace a guilty pleasure for me then. I know i should'nt like them but I do.

You should just relax and enjoy the music, rather than think whether or not you should...;)
