Well, back then the retro 80's style dance rock was a bit of a novelty. The new album is more of the same so of course the surprise factor is gone. They still make incredibly catchy pop songs though.

second albums are always going to be different. artist usaully look for a different direction as so it wont sound like the debut. it will invoke one of three reactions. 1.you will like it 2. it will take a little time to get into it 3. you wont like it at all. from what ive heard of the new album, i really like it

i got 'the sun and the moon' today. its quite enjoyable but i didnt expect it to be that poppy though, i kinda prefer when they have more of a rock sound to the their songs. but its second album so cant expect it to beat the first if it was really good. stand out tracks for me are believe, time wont let me go, tragedy bound, above and below

I'd managed to banish this band from my memory before seeing this thread. An Honest Mistake is one of those songs that makes my heart sink every time I hear it.
