I listened to nothing but Dinosaur Jr. last summer. Does anyone else think that it's good music for the summer?

And I'd agree, they are more of a Winter/Fall band. J Mascus' vocals are a little too down to listen to in the Summer. A couple of the songs from Where You Been could be a good Summer/Spring song, but the album overall is down sounding, in my opinion.

Good music is good music no matter the time of year. Of course there are bands that deal in a certain ambience that lends itself to the seasons but distorted Rock bands are good all year round as far as I'm concerned.

i had a bad experience last summer where i was watching dinosaur jr at a live festival in a very turbulent state of mind and finally started paying close attention to the lyrics... 'even if i leave... someone just like me... will pop out of the ground...forget the swan' or 'i feel the pain of everyone... then i feel nothing...'

not exactly what i needed

Well, yeah, but being in the mood for the music is a necessity to me, so if I'm not feeling it, I probably won't want to listen to it.

Default Farm is out!

Haven't listened to it yet (will tonight) but I have a feeling that this will be a Dinosaur Jr. summer.
