Default Used to be smashing!

I much prefer the older albums... I find their most recent to be lacking.

The Crane Wife seems to be getting alot of hate lately, I didn't really get into it at first but we were stuck in traffic and finally managed to pull over to a starbucks and I bought it there so we could have something to listen to, and after having to listen to it for three hours I think its now my favorite Decemberists album, the lyrics are so amazing on this. I will dress your eyelids / with dimes upon your eyes / laying close to water / green your grave will rise,"<3

I think the fact that you can buy Decemberist cd's at Starbucks is indicative of the larger problem I have with them.

You have a problem with them because their being sold in starbucks? That isn't as bad as it sounds since you can buy anything from kill rock stars/sub pop/etc those kind of seattle or olympia based indie labels in any starbucks around here.

Plus other bands you like are doing it Starbucks to Release Sonic Youth Celebrity Compilation

I'm Australian and I have two albums.
I really like The Decemberists.
16 Military Wives has an amazing filmclip as well.

I was reading their lyrics for the hell of is and decided to download "Here I dreamt I was an architect" and while its not very sonically adventurous, I feel like its still one of the better things I've heard in awhile.
