Lol, I know Indie artists have an attraction to uber-sh*tty band names, but goddamn. Names like this should be illegal.

Oh great rebuttal. I didn't even think this was my negative opinions about Indie we were talking about, I thought I was stating a fact, but you have to get all pissy as usual with your typically n00bish "hey, he dissed Indie, I sooo gotta diss Prog to get back at him" response.
Besides, a better example of a crap prog name would be Fuzzy Duck, then you compare that to names like ... And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead, Dandy Warhols, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah and The New Pornographers. Makes Fuzzy Duck sound more meaningful by comparison, at least it might have actually been inspired by something, perhaps someone in the band liked Fuzzy Ducks. Yes is an uncreative name, but its not horrible, its a commonly used word, and its not something that makes me taste vomit in my mouth just by saying it. As opposed to 95% of all Indie bands.

Sorry, I don't typically dive into a genre and try and discover bands in it if I can't stand it.
And stating a fact? What about all the pwnage indie band names? They're are bad and good band names in every genre, just because you have an annoying hate for indie doesn't mean its the only one with band names. Seriously, plus band names being good/bad is completely up to the person looking at the band name.

I think it's possible to be objective about band names. Can you honestly tell me The New Pornographers is a good band name?
Speaking of which I like The New Pornographers. But knowing that now, everyone here probably hates them.

Nay on sarcasm.
In my opinion the best band names are usually punk and early alt rock bands. The most cheesy names are prog bands, the most uncreative names are metal bands, the most downright meaningless names are indie bands.
