Marketing question regarding Indie bands
Hey there. I run a music marketing company in Canada and we work with Indie bands. We are doing some on-line research and would appreciate any feed back you can give.
1. Where do you look to find indie bands online? 2. Where do you look online to find what indie band is playing in your town? 3. What would make it easier for you to find information on indie bands in your area? Thanks to everyone who participates. Your feedback is not only helping us but indie bands all over. Thank you Bad Boyz Marketing |

Come on people ....be a part of history before it happens. The info you give us today will help the bands of the future and who knows, the ones you help could be the next huge success.
So be heard and voice your comments. Rock On!!! |

1. i dont find indie bands online 2. www.irlondon.co.uk 3. nothing, i live in london and there is a good range of magazines that tell you who is playing when, plus you just get to hear about them on the indie circuit. that was probably all quite unhelpful but hey at least someone replied |

I use www.weirdears.com for gigs in London and indie chat mostly as it focuses on the London scene. I read NME for up coming bands and sometimes look at their website which has downloads of new artists, although I start to feel they're not as independent as they once were.

you can promote indie bands anywhere online. the best place is on a similar but more popular band's message board. there are ezboards for discovering artists, jambands and all sorts of other stuff, but I think the most effective place is at targeted artist's boards. pollstar.com has a lot of indie bands listed, but the best way to find good music in my hometown is to find my favorite local venue and check their calender. Paper indie publications are good too. shows are the best place to find out about any new music because what's promoted is usually similar to the show you came to see. if anyone enjoys reading good music journalism, check out www.treblezine.com ...late
