Ryan Adams certainly does have a place on that list, and I don't know why you wouldn't call him Inide, but he's not getting put into another genre very easily.
By the by, that is how I use "indie," independant from any general sound or movement going on. I don't care if you don't like it. I'm not sure where Sam is getting rehashed classic rock from, but I wouldn't call his work classic rock either. Z for me was fine, but when I say top notch albums, I mean their bulletproof. While I conceed to reason, I get skeptical of obvious masterpieces like Appetite. As you may have noticed, I'm not an easy man to swing one by. Of my favorite artists I'd say one has a masterpiece, and even then its not my favorite album. I have still to listen to Evil urges completly through (I did it on myspace when it was released) but I'm still thinking it could be one of the better things out there. Even if, as boo boo accuratly said, its just a whoel lotta balls.

how about it? Since Sam thinks he's Classic Rock, I'm not sure how right you could possibly be.
And I'm suprised you'd degrade an artist you like so much as being a one-trick pony. New York isn't alt. country, I see monsters isn't alt country. At least I wouldn't say so. Let it ride, heavy orange (still love this track), I don't even think "come pick me up" is more alt. country than it is folk. Lucy, you've gat some splaining tudu.

here's a garbage rehashing of classic rock:
allmusic ((( Rock N Roll > Overview ))) uninteresting lyrics and abysmal pop hooks in a "return to roots rock n' roll" style. this is what i heard. safe to say i'm content not listening to any of his other music.

Yes, I have the DVD. It's one of the best live DVDs I've seen.
